A Wedding Celebration

Hello bloggers,

I hope this Monday morning finds you all well.  I'm here with a card for the new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and More. Our hostess is Josephine and she has chosen the theme
PAPER PRICKING/PIERCING

Josephine would like to see decorative paper pricking or piercing.  If you want you can stitch the holes you prick, but if you choose to do that, please ensure it's real stitching, not faux (drawn) stitching.

Here's my card (anyone got any tips for photographing miri card - it was a nightmare, the card looks much better IRL!) ....

Supplies Used
Scallop die and co-ordinating piercing template from Stampin' Up
Sentiment is also Stampin Up (Perfectly Penned)
Silver miri card embossed with Victorian Fleur EF
Silver glitter hearts punched from SU owl punch
Bride and Groom are iron on motifs from Hobbycraft

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:

Okay, that's me for today, thank you so much for popping in.

Fabric Book Cover

Hi all,

I'm feeling very pleased with myself today as I have FINISHED one of my UFOs (unfinished object).

About 6 months ago I went to a workshop to make a fabric cover for a book.  I thoroughly enjoyed the class but by the time you select all your fabrics, get instruction from the tutor, have your coffee and your lunch ...... well, not an awful lot of stitching gets done!  So at the end of the day, everything was packed up and there it stayed, all stuffed into a bag, until this week, when I was just in the mood to do some fun sewing, so out came the UFO book cover (the book is 8" square)

The main panels are just made with strips of fabric (I used all batiks), a bit of fancy stitching and some ribbon, threads, etc for added texture.

These are all the panels sewn together ....

and this is the finished front with die cut gold lame butterflies and gold stitching ...

and the back ....

the inside sleeve ...

I'd like to link my book cover to the current challenge over at  Anything But a Card, which is SPARKLY.

Thanks ever so for popping in, I hope to be back soon to show you the beginnings of my first quilt.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Grey Wetlands

Hi all,

Thought it was time to get my crafty finger out again as it's been 3 weeks since I last posted.  I haven't been completely idle though, I've started sewing a quilt - still in the early stages but I'll post what I've done later in the week if I've time.

I fancied making a card today but I feel I'm so out of practice at the moment that I had to look through the challenges for some inspiration.

I've gone with the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and the theme at CAS-ual Fridays which is "Shades of Gray".  I was also at a Stampin' Up party recently and bought a heap of stuff, so I thought I'd better use some of it!

Here's my card ....

Supplies Used
Stamp - Wetlands by SU, stamped onto glossy card and lightly coloured with ink
DP is by Indigo Bleu
Gray cardstock is Stampin' Up
Sentiment is PC generated

It's taken me all afternoon to make this card and now it's time to go feed the hungry horaces - fish and chips tonight and I need to go get it as my husband is currently roaring at the TV as Scotland are playing rugby!  Honestly - he is sooooo loud!!

Thanks for popping in,

Take care
